Soma, Bodies in Free Fall

Synopsis

“Corpus: A body is a collection of pieces, of bits, of limbs, of zones, of states, of functions. Heads, hands and cartilage, burns, softnesses, spurts, sleep, digestion, horripilation, excitement, breathing, digesting, reproducing, recovering, saliva, synovia, twists, cramps and moles.

It is a collection of collections, corpus corporum, whose unity remains a question to itself.”… J.L.NANCY

SOMA is an experimental work that combines different theatrical and technological languages, trying to create a scenic system capable of sustaining itself as the germ of a spectacular event ”*.

It is based on the relationship between the body-object-puppet and its postmodern hybridization, constituting the corpus of a new flesh of the stage”: organic body-mechanical artificial body-digital body.

Its narrative organization is centered on the theater of figures.

Puppets and objects are the protagonists of a dramaturgy of their own, based on the image and the relationship between objects and actors-puppeteers, as a heterogeneous machinery to create poetry ”*.
