Synopsis

The Feast of the Puppets, Guadalajara International Puppet Festival, came to life in 2005 as an initiative of Luna Morena, an Experimental Puppet Workshop. Since then this festival has consolidated itself as one of the most important event in the performing arts in the country.

A total of 76 companies from Mexico, Canada, Italy, Peru, Germany, Spain, Chile, Holland, Hungary, Colombia, Uruguay, Brazil and Argentina have participated so far in our Festival.

During the Festival’s nine editions, 192 presentations were given on 12 stages, 25 public venues and 5 alternative spaces. Likewise, 11 workshops, 2 film projections, 3 roundtables, 3 book presentations and one tribute for artistic career.

Currently, the Festín de los Muñecos is an international renowned event that has allowed the public of Guadalajara and of other states of the Mexican Republic to become enlightened and entertained by the art of puppetry through first level presentations.
